I Wanted You

What is your favorite part of the day?  For me it is the early morning.  I enjoy waking up before everyone in the house begins to stir.  I enjoy it not because of the quiet but because of the expectancy of seeing my children when they first wake.  I love kissing their little warm faces when they first stumble into the room.  For whatever reason, this is the time of day that I feel that most gratitude for our precious children; what an incredible gift they are!  Looking into the faces of our children I become more fully aware of Christ's affections and love for us, His children.  "I Wanted You" by Dennis Jernigan has really ministered to me this past week.  Below is an excerpt from the song.
I Wanted You by Dennis Jernigan

I wanted you, from the beginning of time.  I wanted you, and I want you to know how glad I am that you're mine.  You will be rejected sometimes in this life.  But I chose you, selected you, making you mine.  I wanted you, so I made you and called you to be mine.  I wanted you and I want you to know that you are worth my own life.  I wanted you and I still do.

Some lives are not worth living for.  So they say, so they say.  But the smallest of lives are worth so much more.  So I say, So I say.  I say to you, put down the lies, believe what's true.  What my heart already knew, that I wanted you.

Resolve this new year 2011 to "put down
the lies, believe what's true" that I, Christ, wanted you.
